The March, 2015 sales numbers are in and one thing is certain – Toyota is hot right now. This is in contrast to both GM and Ford posting losses and FCA eking out a meager gain. In fact, the light-duty truck side of Toyota posted its best sales in March ever.
In the next few weeks, Toyota is poised to green light its first passenger car assembly plant in Mexico. While the first Mexico plant is noteworthy, the bigger deal for truck fans is the end of the expansion freeze.
From time to time, automakers give major outlets long-term loans of their popular products. Currently, Edmunds.com has a 2014 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel. This truck has performed well, but has had a slew of quality issues. While these “annoyances” may not seem that major (besides a stalling issue), they certainly don’t help improve Ram’s quality reputation.
Toyota has announced it will expand its TRD brand to the Camry and possibly other models. This expansion is incredibly smart and gives Toyota a competitive marketing advantage. It also helps them reach a younger demographic all automakers are struggling with.

There are many new competitors coming to the market, shifts in production and new truck unveils on the horizon. Here are the story lines we will be following.
