Toyota is recalling 130,000 2014 Tundra trucks to fix a side airbag deployment problem caused by an incorrectly installed trim piece.

Apparantly, an incorrectly installed piece of trim on the vehicle’s center pillar may stop the depolyment of the side airbags. This likely says to us, there was a miscommunication between the design team and the assembly process.

Officially, Toyota said it is not aware of any injuries or fatalities related to the condition.

As with all recalls, owners can expect a letter in the mail within the next few weeks. If you have a concern, you can also call Toyota’s customer service number.
