New Tundra Owners – Should You Use Synthetic Oil?
We get asked this question all the time: “I just got a new Tundra and I want to treat it right – should I use synthetic oil? If so, should it be full synthetic or synthetic blend?” The answer: It depends.

Synthetic oil has fewer impurities, better properties at high temperatures than natural oil, slightly better viscosity, and it’s more resistant to breakdown. Therefore, synthetic is better for an engine. However, whether or not it’s better for your engine depends on a few things…
NOTE: If you’re rolling in a 2010 or newer Tundra, you’re probably using 0W-20 oil, which is only available as a synthetic. This is the oil of choice for newer Tundras mostly because it improves fuel economy. It’s some of the best oil available, and unless you’re doing something really extraordinary, sticking with Toyota’s recommended 0W20 is best.

After a week of posts about exterior, interior, driving, etc., here is my view of the truck overall and Toyota’s sales expectations. Again, this information comes from Toyota’s press preview event, talking with reps and my limited time driving the truck.

2014 Toyota Tundra Ride Review – First Take
At the media preview event, I was able to log around 100 miles on the new 2014 Toyota Tundra. Here is what I found.

2014 Toyota Tundra Interior – First Take

The biggest change on the 2014 Toyota Tundra is arguably the interior of the truck. While at the regional press preview event in late August, I got to check out the interior for a brief time. Here are my thoughts.
This is the new interior of the limited package. You can see the loss of the second glove box, the circular vents and the new dash. The center stack has been moved closer too.
