2014 Toyota Tundra CrewMax Spy Photos

The KGP Photography group has taken some spy shots of the 2014 Toyota Tundra up in Canada. While it has major camouflage on it, that’s a good sign. More camouflage may mean more “new” exterior elements they don’t want you to see.

With the recent news that Toyota will unveil a new full-size pickup at the upcoming Chicago Auto Show (Feb. 9-18), much speculation has begun as to what we’ll actually be seeing when the covers are finally pulled off. Will Toyota launch an all-new, drastically redesigned Tundra, or will Toyota take the path it took with the newest Camry — thoroughly updating the current platform to strategically address its shortcomings while saving on development costs? From the look of these first shots, it appears that it took the latter path.
Plastic camouflage hides many of the styling nuances, but we can see evidence of a heavily redesigned front fascia with blocky, flat-topped headlight clusters and an all-new grille treatment. The greenhouse looks to be little changed from the current model.
The full-size truck market is shaping up to be as competitive as ever, with a 2014 Silverado 1500 and Sierra 1500 just dropping, an ever-improving Ram Truck lineup, an all-new Ford F-150 deep into its mule phase (with final prototypes on the way) and a new Nissan Titan scheduled to hit the market pretty soon as well.

It will be interesting to see the final report on the scope of the effort Toyota has put into the 2014 trucks, especially when considering its difficulty in cracking into meaningful sales numbers when compared to the established players. We know we’ll be hearing more on Toyota’s 2014 Tundra, but for now, peruse our spy photos.Photos by KGP Photography Group.

They have water marks on their pics so they get all the credit no matter what. 🙂
Hate to disagree with you, but it has to do with copyright law. Even though they have watermarks, all that means is that it is copyrighted. So, if you use it without permission, legally you can be sued and your site can be taken down. The general rule of thumb is that if it has a copyright mark, you definitely need permission to use it.

In the end, the photographer could have looked at your site, determined that you didn’t ask for permission and sued to have your site taken down.

word is out, see the new 2014 on autoguide website at chicago auto show. All the things they did I will hate. No new engines same old, same old. Squared off exterior is worse more like a Ford box, interior with on some trim levels fake wood grain so hope it is NOT on SR5 pkg., 3.5″ standard display screen as what is like on the toyota highlander I hate so much. NO 6 1/2′ bed on crewmax, no better mpg, nothing but a slight cosmetic trim worse on outside and inside in my opinion. what a joke. In order for this tundra to compete, Toyota is looking at being extinct in the 1/2 ton truck market if you ask me. The big 3 have now surpassed in new designs leaving us faithful tundra owners out in the cold. Toyota’s new slogin going places should be going places downhill in a hurry.

I think you are rushing judgement a bit. I was up close and personal with it today and it has a lot of features that people aren’t seeing right away. Yes, the engine is the same, although it has been tweaked. The Aero-Fins are said to really improve the ride quality. The new dash instrument clusters are really better.
The exterior is far from squared off and is quite aerodynamic. The raised hood is a great look. All the new distinctive trim packages will really give consumers a lot of options. Yes, some of them are polarizing (love/hate), yet that is the point.
I see this truck keeping up with the big 3 and doing just fine. No, it will not increase a lot of market share, but Toyota states it is happy with market share.
Just a few things to think about.

Toyota Tundra is one of a pickup truck type that perfectly suits for each and every task. You can easily your heavy cargo, and at the same it can be used as the best off-road transporter.

You may be correct, but if increasing any market share is in the cards, Yota is dreaming for sure. I really like the outside and inside looks of our current tundra, more so outside on our body style than inside. Would like to see a double cab though since that is what I would have to get since no 6.6″ bed in a crewmax yet again and no increase in mpg is a joke if you ask me. I also don’t like touch screens of any kind would rather have buttons or knobs and fake wood grain is really ugly luckily doesn’t look like the SR5 pkg. will have that. To me, it really resemble parts of the big 3 and not unique in any way. Not impressed at all.

Everyone is jumping on Toyota about no MPG increase. Frankly, we don’t know that at all yet. All new trucks don’t release their MPG estimates until closer to launch. Look at the GM twins, we still don’t know MPG or Towing. The truck does weigh less than previous models and they have increased aerodynamics which leads me to believe that it should get a little better. However, if you read the Q&A with the Mike Sweers, he points out that they don’t want to bloat their numbers to “sound” better, they want real world MPG numbers.
Also, unfortunately, I just don’t think Toyota can compete without touch screens and fake wood grain. That is the way the market is going. Now, that wood grain though isn’t in each trim line. For example, it is in the Limited, but not in the Platinum nor do I think it will be in the SR5.
Like Mike Sweers said in the Q&A, the looks are polarizing. You are either going to like it or hate it. Toyota gets that. However, they hope you will like one trim line which it sounds like you do.

i’am a Toyota guy, but this new 2014 tundra is the worst looking truck they have come out with. they better go back to the drawing board.
