With its large presence and custom roof rack, Chaves’ 2012 Toyota Tundra made an impression at the show.

Up first, and in no particular order, is this 2012 Toyota Tundra Crewmax 4wd owned by Brian Chaves. The truck is currently for sale and has around 18,000 miles.

We had a chance to talk with Chaves. Here is our Q&A.

Did you build the truck only for SEMA?

I built my truck not knowing I would be attending SEMA. Since I was young I’ve always went to Monster Jam and always wanted a big truck. When I was old enough I wanted to build a huge truck that I can drive on streets.

Sorry for the obvious question, but why you are selling the truck you’ve always wanted?

I was wanting to build a big truck and have done more to it than I thought I would with the help of sponsors. I enjoyed building it, it was so much fun. I want to sell it start fresh on another build that will be a diesel and even bigger and see what I’m able to do with the next.

What was the hardest modification?

I wouldn’t say the hardest just took time was the roof rack and hood. The roof rack because it’s a custom one off rack so it needed to be made perfectly to flow the body lines of the truck so took some time. Ryan from NBQ Motorsports did an amazing job on the roof rack. The hood well because it’s fiber glass and didn’t sit right, holes weren’t lined up right so we need to do some modification to make it fit better.

Overall, great job on the truck!
