Rough Country 4.5-inch Lift Kit for the Toyota Tundra

Some Toyota Tundra owners are not satisfied with a 2-inch or 3-inch lift and instead seek out suspension kits that can provide them with greater ground clearance – kits like the Rough Country 4.5-inch suspension lift. The Rough Country 4.5-inch kit is a very complete offering that comes with everything you will need to add a substantial amount of ride height to your Tundra.

A Mobile Veterinary Clinic For Truck Owners

Veterinarians have it tough. Not only are they required to diagnose and treat animals which have no capability of explaining their symptoms, but they are also often called upon to provide care outside of a clinical setting. This is especially true for vets who work with livestock or wild animals in nature preserves and parks.

The Bowie Legacy 5 Mobile Clinic for Veterinarians.

The good news is, when a veterinarian has to make a “house call” (more like “ranch call”), they can bring the office with them. A company called Bowie offers a unique “mobile command center” that fits into the bed of most pickups, including the Toyota Tundra. The Bowie Legacy 5 is a task-focused “Insert Clinic” that provides many of the services that vets require in a package that can be delivered anywhere a four-wheel drive truck can access.

Tundrainsider’s Long Travel Tundra Build

One of the great things about online communities is that some of the most interesting vehicle builds are documented and discussed on the message boards that play such an important role in tying together people with the same interests and passions. While browsing the TundraGeeks.com forum, we recently came across an impressive long travel Tundra project posted by user Tundrainsider.

The ProComp-lifted starting point.

The blueprint for the build was a 2008 Toyota Tundra Crewmax Limited pickup. Tundrainsider’s first step was to install a ProComp Stage II lift kit in order to accommodate 35-inch off-road tires. It wasn’t long, however, before he felt the need to push into new territory with the truck and go down the long travel suspension route in order to give his Tundra an edge on the trail.

ProRYDE Front End Lift Kit for the Toyota Tundra

ProRYDE has been offering lift and leveling kits for pickups and SUVs for a number of years now. Based out of Minnesota, ProRYDE has recently been working to expand its offerings for Toyota vehicles, recently adding a 4Runner lift kit to its already existing 2007 – 2011 Toyota Tundra kit. A Toyota Tacoma lift is also on the way, although there is as of yet no timetable dictating when that product will hit the market.

How Much Lift?

The ProRYDE Tundra kit is intended to allow a fully adjustable front end lift of between 2 and 3-inches, although some owners have been able to see a range of 1.5 to 3.5 inches of adjustment after installation.

Fifth Wheel Tailgate Options for the Toyota Tundra

If you decide to make the move to a fifth wheel trailer hitch, then you are going to have to also eventually replace your Toyota Tundra’s tailgate. While some people choose to drive around without a tailgate at all, this represents a fairly big compromise in terms of the type of cargo you can carry safely, a problem which might rear its head at the worst possible moment and leave you in the lurch.

There are a number of different aftermarket companies out there that manufacture tailgates that feature a fifth wheel cutout that allows enough room for safe operation. Many of these tailgates offer a louvered, grille or bar design, which is intended to allow air to pass through the tailgate while towing and theoretically reduce the amount of drag encountered by your truck while traveling at highway speeds. The fact that the air is simply passing through the tailgate and hitting the trailer head-on seems to be ignored by the manufacturers of these units, and it’s in fact almost impossible to find a non-pass through fifth wheel tailgate design.

Let’s take a look at a few of the available fifth wheel tailgates for the Toyota Tundra.
