Toyota Tundra Helping Michigan Food Bank

In these troubling times, many needy families are having a hard time simply feeding their children. Once again, the Toyota family is taking the opportunity to show its commitment to those in need.
Toyota recently took aim at hunger in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Last Friday, staffers from area dealer Kool Toyota loaded up a brand new Toyota Tundra with food before gifting the the package to Kids’ Food Basket. Kids’ Food Basket is a dedicated local food bank that works tirelessly to end child hunger in the area. The organization will use their new Tundra to deliver and pick up food from donors and schools.
Although this gift was a heartwarming gesture in and of itself, it was only one of many. Toyota’s “100 Cars For Good” initiative gave 100 cars to worthy nonprofit organizations in only 100 days.
In these days of economic stress, many nonprofits are struggling. Transportation costs are taxing many overtaxed nonprofit budgets.
With these latest vehicle gifts, Toyota continues to demonstrate the good will that has made the company beloved by many. Recently, anti-corporate protests have dominated the news media. Though some corporate actors do act improperly, Toyota’s charity work in Grand Rapids and around the nation helps reminds the public that many companies have proven their willingness to put people over profits.
Since the very beginning, Toyota has shown maturity by providing safe vehicles for families. That would have been enough. By partnering with Kids Food Basket, Toyota has lived up to its stated values. It can only be hoped that more companies will follow suit.
