UPDATE: Mickey’s rig has hit 100k miles! See below.

When we found out about all the equipment Mickey added to his CrewMax, we just had to have it for our Featured Tundras section. When he told us he’s put 18k miles on it in 8 months, we understand why he’s tricked it out. He spends a lot of time in this thing…

Check out the projector lamps. Cool photo in the light drizzle.

For starters, Mickey’s got a really nice light setup. For daily driving, he’s got Halo LED Projection Headlights by Cosmos Dynamics. The projection headlights focus almost all light on the road ahead, which is different than the OEM units which use a parabolic reflector (they tend to scatter the light more). The LEDs provide a little more light and a very sharp look. For more light, Mickey added Euro Dezigns HID fog lights and upgraded hi-lo beam bulbs.

Next up, see the rear LED light bar? That’s a great way to make sure everyone sees that you’re stopping, and it’s a relatively simple and inexpensive mod that will really set your truck apart.

Mickey’s a thorough guy – for instance, while most people don’t give their spare tire a thought, Mickey went out and bought a matching 18″ wheel and tire combo so that if he has a flat, he’s not stuck with the Tundra’s standard temporary spare. [Seriously, why would Toyota make the spare temporary on the Tundra? $50 more dollars would have made it useful.] Other exterior add-ons include an AVS bug shield, Trail FX stainless steel nerf bars and a Bully stainless steel step bar, and an Extang Tonneau cover with a Herculiner underneath.

There’s lots of mods inside the truck too. The TRD shifter looks great, as does the OEM back-up camera, and what truck would be complete without WeatherTech mats? The stereo situation is crucial when you’re driving 2k miles a month, so Mickey’s got a Samsung MP3 combined with an XM satellite radio.

Performance mods include a Hellwig rear anti-sway bar, an AFE cold air intake, and a Borla XS dual exhaust with 4″ exhaust tips (stainless steel of course).

Future plans include a tint job, LED interior lights, and a performance engine management tuner. If you’re on the road as much as Mickey, you can appreciate everything he’s done to his Tundra Crew. It’s a great combination of safety, functionality, comfort, and “cool”.

UPDATE December 2010: Mickey hasn’t let any grass grow under his feet since he bought his new truck. It just turned over 100k miles…

Tundra hits 100k miles

Mickey rarely shuts his Tundra off, LOL!

  4. […] I bought my 07 Crewmax Limited Nautical Blue in July 07. I have 22,000 miles and had it in the shop once at 15,000 miles to fix a matter of convienence. Pass mirror wouldn’t auto close. 45 Minutes in the shop and out I went. I travel alot in my in my Crewmax and I use it like a truck when I need it. I would buy another crewmax if it was a hybrid. That’s what I will be looking for when I want another truck. Nothing in the near future will equal to what I got so I’m not in the market nor will I until Toyota comes out with the hybrid truck. Thanks anyway I’m totally satisfied with what I got. Mickey’s Traveling Tundra Crew | tundraheadquarters.com […]

I love pulling up to the poor little domestics and making them tuck their tiny tails inbetween their legs! And how bout that ENGINE! Oh boy! Domestics better watch out! The new Tundra will definately be taking over! I’ve been averageing 20 mpg highway and 15 mpg in city! With all that power, hard to compete with! I love all of that room in the Crew Max! I am 6’1 and my buddy is 6’4 and he had plenty of room sitting behind me. It’s crazy! I could talk all day about my truck. I am sorry I am bragging so much, but I am just very impressed and happy with the Toyota Tundra. Nice to meet you guys and I am very happy to be apart of this site and Toyota.
