Franky’s DOC – A Supercharged 2007 Toyota Tundra RCSB

There are many, many awesome Tundras on the road. One of them, a 2007 Regular Cab Short Box (RCSB) Tundra,ย is owned by Franky. In addition to having a cool nickname (Franky calls his Tundra “Doc”), this Tundra also has the big motor, a supercharger, and a ton of extras.
As you can see, the Doctor is “in.” This thing is suhweet. Here’s the low-down:
Doc has a LOT under the hood – the TRD supercharger is enough to make any Tundra a monster, but this one also has JBA headers and a McGuaghy’s lowering kit with Tokico springs. So, not only is it fast, but it can also hang in the corners.
Franky doesn’t just listen to the motor either. He’s got an awesome stereo setup, with Memphis brand speakers, subs, tweets, and amplification. There’s a lot to be said for using the same manufacturer for all your components because they tend to work well together – kudos to Franky for keeping it all under one brand.
As if the performance and stereo upgrades weren’t enough, Franky has invested a lot of personal effort into his trucks interior too. TRD seats paired up with a Marshall mechanical boost gauge, and the coup de grรขce are the carefully painted gauge surrounds and the blacked-out cluster.
The exterior has a lot of finishing touches too. Starting with a very nice window tint, Franky painstakingly “smoked” (a.k.a. tinted) the headlight and tail light lenses. It was a lot of work, but it really adds to the finished product.
The wheels are another story. The dealership installed a sharp set of chrome rims, but they weren’t Franky’s style. SO, he installed some 20″ Gunner 5 MB Motoring blacked-out rims wearing performance Yokos.
Here’s an awesome video Franky put together. It’s fun watching the truck run down the track, and there’s some good footage of the truck breaking lose on a deserted back road.
The video is also very well-edited – Franky must have a day job in video!
Franky – just an awesome truck man – thanks for sharing.

OH YES! That is what I am talking about.
Good show Gutz…. Video was awesome….so is the truck…..
If you guys want to see the truck in person, he’ll be in the SoCal Meet next weekend. Thread is in Tundratalk.

That is tight! Nice work man! Wish we had someone up here with a truck like that, they’d be my best friend real fast ๐
UBER SECKS!!!
Its one thing to see pics of Franky’s sweet rig but to see it in person as I have at one of our TundraGEEKS SoCal meets is is a totally different experience!
Great set up Franky!
Hey, where are the G-Tek sill protectors!?!?!
Sorry Greg……I have the pics on CarDomain, but theyt weren’t selected….:( Thanks everybody!!
nice mods and one sweet ride. I don’t care for the wimpy color of light blue though and where is the leather steering wheel to match the leather seats, etc.? Come on, if you are going to do it, do it all. What did it run in the 1/4 mile? I bet around 12 seconds flat is my guess or is it lower than 11?
Great to see the IBTO/Tundra Geeks guys support one of there members. Way to go….
mk………..
I have never ran the quarter…:( I do have horrible wheelspin and baby it off the line…As far as the leather steering wheel, just been busy, but that is the plan…Thanks…;)
I love men
We know this Beer!
It ain’t nothing but a Beer thing……
Franklin Gutzereno!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FTW. Awesome write up my old buddy!!!
Nice to see you geting some love on THQ, Gutz! I guess I have no choice but to make that meet next week, huh? I’ve got to see Doc in person and whoever said “light blue” was weak….WHAT? That’s a bad ass color I almost got myself except it didn’t match my Kawasaki blue as exact as I wanted it to. Definitely love the truck and my jaw still drops at the 0-60 from the video. Burn, baby, burn!!!
Great to see your truck on here Franky , very well taken care of and very fast too !
I love your gauges , and the color of your truck !
Thanks Beericus, Mickey, TXTee and Ramoine!!
PS: I am drunk right now!!!
No prob as long as you’re not planning to roll anywhere with Doc! It’s so hot in Santa Rosa I pulled Manny back in the garage and postponed his bath. This tequila is much better anyway.
I guess it’s Ultra time……..
Tequila is nasty. till about the third shot. Then it goes down smooth.
HA HA HA
i would like to no what your power is at with the other mods the supercharger gets you up to 501 hp and 550 tourge so what did the other stuff get you up to
Hey Steven,
I am not sure as I have not gotten my truck dyno’d. I am gonna say I am probably no more than 515 at the crank….
mk – I like the blue…and I’m guessing your Mom forgot to tell you that “If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all.” That’s the golden rule on these featured trucks. Thanks.
yes sir, but I did say one sweet ride and nice mods which is true. It is just that ‘baby blue’ is not much to look at but to each their own. Some people love white and black while others like me wouldn’t be caught dead in either color, especially white. Either way, the color does not make the truck go faster and would sure like to have a supercharger on my tundra and my honda valkyrie. Both would then be the fastest truck and full dresser cycle around my area for sure. However, both as stock sure can get me in enough trouble already.
mk – I hear that. The truck is fast enough without all the extras…
almost! ๐
I need NOS!!!
That’s because everyone knows silver is the fastest color. By the way, baby blue is like North Carolina blue or sky blue…..Tundra blue is a medium blue. Take a female’s word for color before I break out the Crayola box and start schooling you on the subtleties of periwinkle and chartreuse.
And tequila is great when mixed with the right things or enjoyed with the right company!
Silver!!! That’s as bad as white…. Nautical Blue is where it’s at. Sleek and mysterious. In a wink of an eye Nautical Blue passed you by.
TXtTee – you may have to break out the crayola box on me because the wife says I am color blind of which is true. I did a test once for color blindness and the misses was right. I am color blind. When I bought my 2010 tundra in salsa red (dark red), the misses wanted pyrite mica, but I hated that color thinking it was light brown/tan color. She said it wasn’t, but didn’t care, it was not what I liked to see in a color and since I drive it most of the time, I win even though she makes more money than I do by a lot. There are some things like color in trucks I will not compromise on. However, I was all set to get the new spruce mica (dark green metallic) when the misses took one look at it in the sun and saw all the gold metallic (not silver metallic like most trucks have in the paint) shine thru the dark green color and she said she would not be caught dead in it. Too much green and gold and even though from WI with Packer mania running wild around us, it was too much gold metallic in paint – I agreed. In the shade or dark out, the gold metallic does not shine thru a lot and does look nice though. At least we both agreed on that.
LOL MK I have to agree that regardless of what the color may be in reality, you have to like what you see….interesting story on the pyrite mica. I won’t break out the Crayolas since it won’t make a difference in your eyes and you have your wife to guide on the important decisions!
mk…..
That is a funny post…..
yah, and I think the salesman was sick of us being undecided and at the dealership for hours deciding on what we wanted in color, etc. almost up until 8 p.m. closing time. Lucky he was not too busy and looked like they all had nothing better to do.
Yoou can get the best deals like that sometimes…….
Hey Gutz, how did you paint your gauges? Is there a good way to get them apart from the dash without breaking anything? Or is it just a very carefully done paint job with the dash remaining intact? I have a fire engine red Tundra (go figure, I’m a firefighter haha) and I’m wanting to paint my interior gauges and gear shift area like you did yours.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks in advance;
Firefighter Roy
Hey Robert Roy,

I just ordered the Gunner 5 20 inch wheels for my 2007 Tundra. What size tires do you have on the rims?
Hey Franky, sick tundra, now I def Want one. How much did it run u to get it to where it is, performance wise?
Aaron, I cannot for the life of me recall the size, and I am currently out of the country, sorry. I have a build over at Tundrageeks.com somewhere still I hope. The size should be in there
Eddie,
The SC was 5300 and the install was 900. Headers were 600 bucks. That’s about it. Hopefully, soon, I will get it custim tuned with a Unichip I purchased awhile back.
When I moved the site to a new host, I temporarily “lost” some data, including this post. It’s back now – my apologies if someone referenced it and the post was empty.
