Biffle’s Raptor Vs. Bowyer’s Tundra

Greg Biffle with Roush Performance developed a custom Ford F-150 SVT Raptor as part of the Sherwin-Williams Planet Color All-Star Charity Challenge. Like Clint Bowyer’s 50s-style Tundra it will be auctioned off for charity. Is the Raptor cool enough to beat the Tundra? We will find out in September.
The Sherwin-Williams challenge pitted these two NASCAR stars in a head to head competition to see who could design a better auction-selling truck. The proceeds from these two trucks will go to charity.
Biffle’s truck will have to beat Bowyer’s Toyota Tundra that sold for an impressive $100k in Orange County, CA. The Raptor will be part of the September, 2012 Barrett-Jackson auction in Las Vegas, NV.
The Raptor
The F-150 Raptor received a number of upgrades to performance, tires, accessories and paint. These upgrades include:
- TVS2300 supercharger (525 HP)
- Performance Exhaust System
- Custom 18″ wheels wrapped in 35-inch BFGoodrich tires
- TireGate tire carrier
- Light bars, front and rear
It also was painted red with racing graphics to really make it look like a Baja racing truck.
The Toyota Tundra
A decidedly different look was created by Bowyer who decided to create a throw-back 50s-style work truck. Using his imagination, Bowyer and Toyota Motor USA worked to build what they thought a Tundra would look like back then. The result was a one-of-a-kind truck that really takes you back to when trucks looked that way.
The Tundra includes:
- Red patina paint job – giving it the appearance of a “tri-five” style work truck
- Roof visor
- Custom wheels
- Louvered tailgate
- Vertical bar grille
- White bumpers, mirrors and grille
- Wood bed and wood bed stakes
- Blanket upholstered seats
- Custom exhaust
- Upgraded suspension components
- V-6 engine
Whether you like it or hate it, it is an interesting take on what that truck would have looked like.
What do you think, which one will raise the most money? Will Biffle’s powerful, Baja-ready Raptor or Bowyer’s one-of-a-kind Tundra raise the most money for charity?

I think this one’s going to go to the Ford. That Tundra was a joke!!
Biffle’s Raptor isn’t much of a change than what you can get from Ford in a Raptor. Where as Bowyer’s Tundra is one of a kind which makes it unique. That’s why it sold at an impressive amount.
the tundra is kinda weird they way they have it i am sure if they really knew this was a comp to see who would make the money money toyota would have used there supercharged tundra atleast and left the v6 at home 100,000 was good i wouldnt pay that for a ford any day but the v6 is kinda a joke when u have the best v8 goin and the fastest truck with the charger on it and that alone is worth more money
I have to say I think the Raptor will win as well. No 5.7L iforce = NO Win.
AD,
I did find it interesting that Bowyer went with a V6 as well. Not really sure why. We will have to see if style beats power.

Tim wasn’t most of the 50’s vehicles 6 cylinders?
Mickey,
I think so. But, I’m not too sure that was the reason he went that way.

raptor wins I think, what the F on the tundra???
MK,
I kind of like the Tundra. Not that I would buy one, but I think it was a much more unique idea.
