Five Great Gift Ideas For Truck Owners

It’s that time of year again when every website tosses out a gift guide, and we’re going to add to the fray by offering up some gift ideas for Tundra owners and truck owners in general.
First, here’s a list of the coolest gifts you can get your favorite truck owner. This isn’t a list of cheap gifts for truck owners, and it’s not a list of the most popular accessories for the Tundra, but it IS a list of accessories a lot of pickup truck owners would love to have.
1) A Tonneau Cover. Most tonneaus cover and protect the contents of the truck bed while also streamlining the truck’s appearance. Since tonneau covers often come with a locking mechanism, they’re a decent way to add a whole lot of “trunk space” to a pickup truck. While there are too many tonneau options to list, some of the most popular tonneau covers include:
- Undercover Tonneau cover – See our review of the Undercover Tonneau cover for the break-down.
- BakFlip Tonneau cover – The Bakflip Tonneau review is that it’s easy for one person to install and remove.
- The Truxedo Tonneau cover is an inexpensive way to cover the bed, but it’s not really secure. It does, however, look nice.
- Extang Trifecta Tonneau cover – We reviewed the Extang solid-fold tonneau, which is basically a more expensive version of the trifecta. Both are quite popular.
2) A Cold Air Intake Kit. Cold air intakes offer more power, better gas mileage, and they make the engine sound even meaner than it already does. It’s a very cool gift idea for the hot-rod type of truck owner.
We’ve reviewed all the popular cold air intakes including the Volant air intake, the aFe air intake, and the K&N air intake. Of all the kits we’ve reviewed and tested, the kit from aFe was our favorite.
3) Some step bars. There are thousands of step bars to choose from, but Westin’s Platinum Oval Step Bars are top-sellers on AutoAnything.com and only $200-$400 per set depending on your truck.
Chrome billet grille before (left) and after (right).
4) A chrome billet grille. We’ve reviewed the Carriage Works billet grille and we have to say it’s a great deal. Less than $150 for a part that really dresses up a pickup.
5) A cat-back exhaust system. If you buy this for your favorite truck owner, we’ll guarantee a HUGE smile on their face. After-market exhaust systems are incredibly popular accessories because they can add power, boost gas mileage, and make a truck sound mean (in an awesome sort of way). Another great gift for a hot-rod truck owner.
Our favorite cat-back exhaust kits are from Gibson, Magnaflow, Flowmaster, and Borla.
Read up on all of the different kits here.
Final Tip – AutoAnything.com has a pretty big sale going on during the holidays. They’re offering free shipping and a one-year guarantee on their price. They’re top-notch in terms of customer service and definitely worth a look…but don’t forget about checking Amazon.com either.

Definitely a great list of easy accessories to dress up a truck. Anyone know what wheels those are on the Westin step bar pic?
Have no idea TXTee. I already have an AFE, S/S stepbars and tonneau cover. I guess now the billet grille.
I’m accessorized out too. Bac found out they are ProComp wheels but I already have some KMCs to go on in a few weeks. Midnight Rider can use a nice billet to go with all the halos, etc.
You’re right about that. I already painted the grill and was debating painting it again but I think it’s time for the billet to come out.
TXTee – Sorry – no idea.
