Ford Drops F150 “SFE” Package

It feels good to be right about something at TundraHeadquarters.com (since it happens so rarely). Back in September, 2008, we wrote a post about the F150 SFE (Superior Fuel Economy) package saying quote:
the “SFE package” is nothing more than a marketing ploy that takes all of Ford’s standard truck improvements (like the new 6-speed auto and a more aerodynamic design) and calls them something special. While Ford certainly deserves credit for improving the fuel economy of all of the 2009 models, it’s embarrassing to brag about a “package” that’s little more than a set of standard features.
Earlier in the week, Ford quietly dropped the SFE as a special package, opting instead to offer this level of fuel economy on a standard F150 without all the hype – almost as if everyone at Ford’s F150 marketing department realized that this was a bad idea.
Maybe next time we’ll get an email from one of Ford’s marketing people BEFORE they make a mistake like this…
Probably not.

It happens to the best of them. You called it right Jason…..Bravo Zulu…….
What do you mean “happens so rarely?” I come here for good facts and haven’t been disappointed yet.
OH THE HUMANITY! What has this world come to? Ford is dropping the Pseudo-Packages from the F-150. Next thing you know they will have titles than mean something. Like the F150 will be called the Ford F series Crappy Edition Delux and the F250 will be called the not crappy edition Super Deluxe. you pay extra for having a real truck and for the E in deluxe.
LOL – Thank you all for your comments.
F-150s are for the people that want the look of a truck but it never really does any work. Nice package for a teen boy’s first truck, maybe…..
The new F150 is still the fugliest truck I’ve ever seen in my life…
Rick, that is your opinion. It is an opinion not shared by everyone. For example, blind people would not agree with you. Nor would people with low iq’s who are half blind. I would not agree with you if I were not wearing my glasses, was then punched in the face, and a man names Hugo was threatening to kill me if I didn’t like the look of the truck. And, for the record, fugly does not begin to cover what happened to that truck. But on the bright side, I posted a pic of a f150 in my fridge and I have lost 20 lbs so far.
ha ha ha
Jeremy – LOL – great insult sir. I will use that.
Very good Jeremy. What dedication you have to look at that truck and lose the weight.
